Daniel Rodriguez: Promise To Play – ESPN Video

In honor of Veteran’s Day today, I wanted to share a special feature ESPN played yesterday during College Game Day: Daniel Rodriguez: Promise To Play – ESPN Video – ESPN.

For those of you who don’t know much (or anything) about him, Daniel Rodriguez is a 24-year old Army veteran who made the Clemson football team as a walk-on this fall. His story is pretty amazing – such an inspirational story of taking a bad situation, and making the decision to follow through on a promise to a friend to make his dreams come true after living through the harsh reality of war (emotional types: I’ll warn you in advance that there is one part of the video that made me tear up. But I also can’t handle men crying, so … yeah). Short story: he nearly died in combat. His friends did. And he chose to make the most of the life he was blessed to still have. Basically, if you don’t know him, you should. Such a testament to being able to accomplish anything you put your mind to if you want it bad enough.

A big THANK YOU to the Armed Service members, both past and present, who have made so many sacrifices to ensure that we stay safe and free at home. And GO TIGERS!
